DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO) • Greet patients upon arrival • Check in patients • Give patients paperwork to complete • Collect patient copayments, coinsurance, and/or outstanding balances • Empty incoming fax folder daily • Help answer phones • Scan in patient information to electronic medical record • Update patient contact information in practice management system • Process outgoing mail • Follow HIPAA guidelines • Other duties as assigned by Practice Administrator QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS • High School graduate or equivalent • Computer skills and ability to use practice management software • Ability to use typical office machines including fax, copier, scanner, and multi-line phone PREFERRED SKILLS • Previous experience in a medical office setting • Clear and articulate phone voice • Excellent customer service skills • Excellent communication skills • Ability to work in a fast paced environment TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS Must be able to remain seated and stationary for prolonged periods of time. Ability to consistently operate a computer, keyboard, and other office machinery such as telephones, printers, etc. Will need to occasionally move about front desk space/clinic to access machinery and resources as needed. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS (ENVIRONMENTAL) Normal medical front desk/reception environment. Possible exposures typical of a clinical setting. REPORTS TO: PRACTICE ADMINISTRATOR
